The Enterprise Manifesto
Here at Enterprise UK we’ve launched the – where we are asking entrepreneurs, and those who support entrepreneurship, to submit ideas to create a more entrepreneurial UK. Some of the UK’s top entrepreneurs, including Peter Jones, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and John Bird, have already contributed their ideas – and we’d like you to join them. We’re partnering with our founders - the BCC, CBI, FSB and the IoD - and Director Magazine to deliver the Manifesto. The ideas from the project will be presented to stakeholders as ‘The Enterprise Manifesto: practical ideas for an entrepreneurial Britain’. Contributing to the Manifesto is a way to share the issues you feel passionately about and collaborate with others in the enterprise community. You can submit your own ideas as well as viewing and rating those already there. If you’d prefer you can also email ideas to the Enterprise Manifesto team at policy@enterpriseuk.org. and we’ll share them online for you. Ideas need to be less that 250 characters long (about 2 sentences). |
Interesting ideas?
Here are some of the ideas that have been submitted by entrepreneurs already to the Enterprise Manifesto – think you’ve got a better one? "By adding a 'what have you started' section to their application forms, big businesses will be inspiring a generation of starter-uppers and fostering all of the essential qualities which they keep complaining that graduates are lacking.” Oli Barrett "As a business owner I'd love to do my banking with a dedicated *Business Bank*. One perhaps owned and run by business people, with some idea of funding issues faced by modern businesses today. A bank that knows what's needed to make an SME tick!" Freya Sykes, Wakefield “"Make it dramatically easier for small businesses to hire the best talent from around the world. The current visa sponsorship model is broken for small businesses. Consider a stripped-down visa or a simpler sponsorship process." Will Critchlow, London |
